The Learning Institute provides opportunities for individuals and communities through high quality education, training and research programmes that challenge personal barriers and promote social inclusion.
Based in the South West of England, we offer courses in Cornwall (Camborne, Roche), Devon (Exeter, Ilfracombe, Plymouth), Dorset (Poole), Gloucestershire (Tewkesbury, Winterbourne) and London (Northolt, Southwark).
With dedicated tutors and support for our students, trainees and apprentices, we’re with you all the way.
Develop your career working with children and young people. With taught sessions once a week, and a blend of face-to-face and live online learning, our foundation degrees are designed to help you balance study, work and home demands. You’ll be working or volunteering with children alongside your studies, enabling you to link theory and practice and potentially earn while you learn.
Advancing Practice BA (Hons) (four pathways available: Early Years Professional | Inclusive Education | Learning and Education | Mental Health and Wellbeing of Children and Young People)
Advance your professional practice for effective working with children, young people, their families and communities. With taught sessions once a week, and a combination of face-to-face and live online learning, our top-up degree is designed to help you balance study with your existing commitments.
Learn from outstanding, practising teachers and experience all aspects of school life on our school-based primary and secondary postgraduate teacher training courses. Delivered over one academic year, with placements in at least two of our partner schools.
Develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours on the job with our professional development programmes. These courses can be funded through the Apprenticeship Levy.
