HM Queen Elizabeth II

A message from Rob Haring, CEO of Westcountry Schools Trust

The end of an era of some 70 years has come to a close with the extremely sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen was remarkable in many ways, most of all her constancy of leadership and dedication to service.

The country has now embarked on a period of national mourning. At this time, our thoughts, reflections and condolences are with the royal family.

During this period of national mourning all WeST schools will remain open, and, in doing so, will continue to meet the needs of our collective staff, children and community. Staff will support children who are finding the news of the Queen’s death upsetting.

Whilst open, we will continue to deliver a degree of normality through ‘corebusiness’. However, the frequency and tone of our normal communications will change, less frequent and of a far more sombre tone than usual as a mark of respect.

As more information regarding the national situation becomes available we will share details when able to do so.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
Rob Haring
