Our apprenticeships

Academic Professional (Level 7)
 

The Academic Professional apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with the University of Worcester and will include units of the PGCertHE or M.Res, and lead to an opportunity to apply for HE fellowship.  In-house and offsite training is delivered through face-to-face and/or online lectures and includes support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, and coaching and mentoring for both the apprentice and the workplace mentor. 

Business Administrator (Level 3)
 

The Business Administrator apprenticeship is delivered in-house through activities and tasks that develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours within the standards. These are evidenced through reflective journals and workbooks. TLI provides face-to-face and/or online support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, coaching and mentoring to contextualise the standards to the workplace and ensure the apprentice feels secure in their knowledge.

Early Years Educator (Level 3)  

The Early Years Educator apprenticeship is a new programme being planned to include in-house and offsite training, accredited through CACHE/NCFE. Training is made up of tasks and exercises that develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours within the standards, contextualised to each workplace. TLI provides face-to-face and/or online support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, and coaching and access to online CACHE resources and online testing. 

Improvement Leader (Level 6)  

The Improvement Leader apprenticeship is being designed by TLI to contextualise improvement methodologies created for the manufacturing industries to a public sector setting.  The Level 6 award looks at strategic improvements across an organisation to raise performance, reduce waste, or eliminate error.  It should be seen in the context of building an improvement culture within an organisation, and should be undertaken and supported in the workplace with operational input which ideally is in the form of one or more Level 4 Improvement Practitioners who deliver operational improvement projects within an organisation.  Training takes the form of up-front learning on six-sigma and LEAN methodologies, for those without previous experience with these, and ongoing coaching in the collection and interrogation of data, design, roll out and evaluation of impact of an improvement project(s). 

This standard has been mapped against NPQML and future development may include the awarding of this specific education professional qualification alongside the apprenticeship.

Improvement Practitioner (Level 4)

The Improvement Practitioner apprenticeship is being designed by TLI to contextualise improvement methodologies created for the manufacturing industries to a public sector setting.  The Level 4 award looks at making operational improvements within an organisation to raise performance, reduce waste, or eliminate error.  It should be seen in the context of building an improvement culture within an organisation, and should be undertaken and supported in the workplace under the supervision of a Level 6 Improvement Leader who is delivering strategic improvements within an organisation.  Training takes the form of up-front learning on six-sigma and LEAN methodologies, with ongoing coaching in the collection and interrogation of data, design, roll out and evaluation of impact of an improvement project. 

This standard has been mapped against NPQML and future development may include the awarding of this specific education professional qualification alongside the apprenticeship.

Infrastructure Technician (Level 3)  

The Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship is delivered through in-house and offsite training, and includes BCS technical certificate accreditation. Training is made up of tasks and exercises that develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours within the standards, contextualised to each workplace. TLI provides face-to-face and/or online support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, and coaching and access to online BCS resources and online testing. 

Senior Leader (Masters) (Level 7) 

The Senior Leader (Masters) apprenticeship will be delivered through a combination of in-house and offsite training at local centres, and includes CMI accreditation.  Training is made up of tasks and exercises that develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours within the standards, contextualised to each workplace. Each apprentice has, in addition to completion of unit assignments, to complete a practical work-base project based on the Leadership role in order to pass the TLI Values-Led Leadership Masters Degree as part of the Gateway assessment.  TLI provides face-to-face and/or online support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, and coaching and access to online CMI resources. 

Teacher (Level 6) 

The Teacher apprenticeship provides the opportunity for an apprentice to follow the innovative School-based ITT programme run by TLI, with the additional opportunity to gain PGCE alongside QTS as part of this provision.  In house and offsite training is delivered through face-to-face and/or online lectures and includes support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, and coaching and mentoring for both the apprentice and the workplace mentor. 

Teaching Assistant (Level 3) ​​​​​​ 

The Teaching Assistant apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of in-house and offsite training at local venues, and includes opportunities to visit different workplaces.  Training includes tasks that develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours within the standards contextualised to each workplace. TLI provides face-to-face and/or online support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, and coaching for both apprentice and work-base mentor. 

Team Leader (Level 3) 

The Team Leader apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of in-house and offsite training at local venues, and includes CMI accreditation.  Training is made up of tasks and exercises that develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours within the standards, contextualised to each workplace. TLI provides face-to-face and/or online support in the form of seminars, Q&A sessions, and coaching and access to online CMI resources.
