About the Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning
Working in partnership with the University of Worcester, The Learning Institute provides a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning for those already working with children or young people; an exciting opportunity to enhance their knowledge of teaching and learning whilst staying in employment - learn while you earn!
The principal aim of the programme is to enable participants to gain knowledge that directly relates to the roles they are currently employed in.
Attendance can be either one full day or one afternoon and evening for five days per half term, depending on the course attended. The course itself is two years with the option to extend it another year to take it an Honours Degree. It is made up of 16 modules - eight at Level 4 and eight at Level 5. A number of these can be completed within your work environment. This allows you to use your current work experience as a foundation on which to base your studies.
Assessment takes many forms - short presentations, reflections on observations or workplace tasks and assignments for example. We do not use exams as a method of assessment.
